I'm changing out the old Rover cassette player for a Pioneer CD player and was wondering if anyone could tell me exactly what each wire in the photo represents. I don't want to cross something with the wrong wire on the new radio. I figure the little black box is all speakers, black is ground, red is power. I've never seen purple before, and I'm geussing green might be the constant power for the clock.

Any input will be appreciated. The car is a 91 Mayfair.

It follows the same wiring code as the whole car, it's British Standard. Black is earth, purple is permanant live, green is switched live (accessory circuits), red is sidelights.

My rover stereo had the pinouts on a label on the back of it.

Thanks everyone. Now I can get to work and not worry about burning anything up.
