Hello all,

Im planning to respray my mini in a couple of months time. Here's a pic of the colour scheme im going for, just want some clarification on the paint names and codes. I have a feeling it is BRG of some description but as there are a few different shades i'd like to know what this one is? Also if someone has an idea on the white?
Saw this at the goodwood revival last year and thought :D

This is "supposed" to be Brooklands green. Now its worth pointing out that if you go to a triumph classic car show you will see a few variations in depth of green....all apparently "Brooklands"

At first glance I thought the mini was brooklands, but it is a tad darker than most "brooklands" if you get my drift?

For some reason this thread has been nagging away at me for some time. The penny has just dropped, about 12 years ago a guy I worked with aquired a load of dark green paint and resprayed his old Peugeot. The shade was much like you are after and I think it was Connaught Green, seems to be a Morgan colour. Look here and see what you think,

Edit Connaught Green is also an old Austin 1100 colour. Do a bit of googling to find examples.

Do you know, i think you may be on to something. One of my friends at work has a green morgan which looked pretty much like the mini in my photo so i asked him what the name was and he said connaught green. I don't suppose you'd happen to know the paint code for it?

Cheers

I'm sorry I can't find a code for the Morgan Connaught green but I would suggest your best course of action may be to ring some paint suppliers in your area to see if they can help.
With regard to the BMC connaught green, I think on reflection that this was the one used on the Peugeot I mentioned. I have been told that there were 3 variations / shades of connaught green, one is a light green and obviousley not correct for you but the darker one is very close to the Morgan colour.

I think the code for the darker shade is GN18 ICI 3302. The best way forward is to find a paint supplier who has colour chips for you to compare and make your choice. They can also mix small quantities, sometimes down to 1/10 litre so you could try a small area actually on the car.
