Hi Guys

As some of you know, I got a remote central locking kit for christmas, the one with the rover fob interface so that the rover immobiliser fob operates the central locking.

The car is a 1998 MPi, and AFAIK should have the bit that flashes the indicators when you turn the immobiliser on, but for some reason it didn't...

It did however have the extra socket for the plug on the alarm unit, so I bought one from a similar aged MPi.

I've had a look at a wiring diagram, and it looks like I need to find a big junction of indicator wires, one for each side. It seems to be where the wirs for the front, side and rear lights meet each other on each side...

My question - where exactly are these junctions of wires? I think that to make the indicators flash I need to put the wires from the alarm unit there, but there's so much sodding wiring on the car that I can't find them... I suspect that it might be behind the dash. I'm doing some more wiring behind the dash today, so if that's where they are, then i'll have another go at making it work while i've got the dash out.

Thanks in advance

Tom

Hazard warning switch is probably the most accessible .

So how would I wire that then? There are 2 wires coming off the alarm unit - one for the left indicators and one for the right...

hazard switch would be best, if you put the switch out from the panel there will be some wires going into the back of it, i cant remember off the top of my head, on my 77 mini i think one was green with a white stripe and green with a red stripe (left and right indicators) not sure if its the same on yours, although just get a multimeter, whack the indicators on and see which is which, but i just removed abit of the plastic sheathing and soldered the wires off your alarm unit on
