Hi all,

I'm sure this has been covered before but I can't find owt on the search...I'm moving my front seatbelt retractors as part of a rear rollcage install, trouble is I'm going to need angle adjustable ones to mount them where I want to - and securon don't sell angle adjustable retractors with a B-pillar mount and 30cm stalks...although they make all the bits to do this they just don't sell them as a package!.. =]

Does anyone know an alternative manufacturer? If not then I'd appreciate it if anyone could share where they moved the retractors to if they had to use fixed (nonadjustable) ones with a rollcage install.

If anyone's interested, I'm planning on mounting them down inside where the door bins used to be, right at floor level as far back as they can go, which is why they need to angle forward towards the mount on the B-pillar. I'm not interested in harnesses at all for this car...

Thanks for your help guys

I suppose they would work if they were mounted to the back end of the bin.

I've read somewhere about switching the seat belt sill anchor point with the inertia reel and visa-versa, seems this would work and the inertia reel will still be mounted vertically.

Does anyone know if it will work?

I have one Securon adjustable front belt & stalk - your for a measly £15 + post.

Have you tried contacting Securon an see if they will do you a package - as you say, they do the belt you want (in part number 264) and the buckle you want in many of the other kits (ie 500/30). The alternative (but expensive solution) is to by two of each of those part numbers and use the parts you need.

Thanks for your replies

Eventually I just made some beefy brackets that came off the rollcage front feet bolts. Turns out I prefer this as the non adjustable retractors are really compact, and it leaves the space behind the front cage feet for stowage like the doorbins were never gone!

I did get in contact with securon, they don't mix components as they get them type approved as complete kits and can't mix and match. they would sell me one kit with a webbed buckle and then two "spare" stalk buckles...so long as I "promised" they would not be used together...was quite an expensive option too...

By the way...DON'T buy the SBS514 seatbelt kits from moss for this job. They don't have the b-pillar mount and are therefore pretty useless for mini fitment, even though they are listed as mini front seatbelts...I thought I made it clear to them htat their website was completely misleading but they still haven't changed it...

cheers!
