If you are going to use a new pair of bearings, you can simply pry off the outer making sure that you catch all the balls (otherwise you may be skating around later) this will allow you to get to the bolts for easier removal.

Or you could contact Guessworks who's in Rugby or us who are in Kettering as we both have the tooling to remove said bearings complete............

I use a pair of car tyre levers, one either side on the inner race and eaqual pressure will get it moving.

Worthwhile if you end up changing the bearing, to get the full width bearings.

most diff bearings are of a non preload or very low preload type now, genuine SKF types are available and some others made in the UK, just watch out for the really cheap ones that have a wider inner section than outer section..... as these just don't fit :P

Should be able to.. Only thing I would say is make sure the puller splines come out far enough to get the inner race. And not just the outer..(causing the bearing to split......)

Yep, use the half moon shaped part clamped around the back of the bearing.  I use a hydraulic version to get the first motion bearing off without damage.
