Just joined the forum today.
Me and my mate are pulling together a mini rebuild based on 1000cc engine for my son. This will be his first car and at 17 he needs some advice getting some affordable insurance.
Any help would be of great assistance, hope you can help.
Thanks
Greg

Learner drivers get cheaper insurance than people who have recently passed, so i would give Direct line a call for a quote. What year is the Mini you're putting together from?

hello, how much are you looking to pay for insurance? im currently paying Direct Line £1150 (fully comp) on my own policy. im 18 and i also have a 1000cc engine in my Mini.

Also, it might be worth using the same company you're using to get a multi person discount.
I used the same as my wife and they gave me (copied over?) her no claims bonus when I had none as I'd been on company cars.
That was Direct Line as it happens.

Try a company called e-buget insurance. They were slightly less than direct line but for some reason when I comfirmed my details they refused to insure me. Not sure whether this was the diabetes or the engine swap? All I can say is try them.

Cheapest i could find on my 998 at 17 was £1200 from LV with no mods declared. But on classic insurance with all mods declared, i got quoted £700 by footman james.
