on my 1989 998 mayfair i'm on my third hose this year,
i've changed all the water hoses, water pump and flushed through the radiator and it just seems to keep blowing,
i cant find any blocks in the cooling system and am sure there is no air in there either any sujestions
i've used two for unipart and one from mini speed.
the mini speed one has lasted the longest so far bbut dont really want to have to keep changing them because its a pain in the bum.

cheers will

Well, you could just block it off.

Or reinforce your own bypass pipe with a touch of copper pipe.

Use a piece of oil cooler hose (or power steering hose) - can withstand a hell of a pressure

though that is solving the symptom and not the problem...

is the rad hot when it bursts? - are the stubs on the head and water pump clean? - using good clips? - *not* using the concertina type of hose?

well i have a new thermostat and the most of the stuff is new i dont really want to block it off as that may make it worse if there is a problem... is power steering pipe the same diamiter?

theres no reason why it should blow in preference to any other hose... unless the material is so crap it cant take 15lbs of pressure..

Could get the cooling system pressure tested to see if it blows...

is power steering pipe the same diamiter?

comes in different sizes!
