Hi there, have been signed up a few days now and thought i would say hello!

I've wanted a classic mini all my life, ever since i was about 10! So thought i would sign up and find out as much as i can before making that plunge into the mini world.

I currently drive a Vauxhall Corsa:

Which i have followed the OEM+ route on in terms of styling/modifying.

I'm looking into getting a mini within the next year or two, depending upon my financial situation when leaving university!

I've been browsing the forum and have seen some very nice restoration projects, very inspiring!

Thats all from me, brilliant forum here and can't wait to get myself a mini!

Thanks, James

(p.s does anyone know what happened to the 'Mini Man' in knowle? I was going to buy a restored mini from him when i was 17 but he had shut down when i went!)

MiniMAN in Knowle apparently retired. I am sort of glad too because too many cars were cobbled together with the incorrect parts. The cars always looked nice but if you want original then self build and restore is always the way forward. Plus there are some established mini specialists round town too.

Gotta say I do like your corsa love the subtle grey shades to lenses and glass.

Welcome to motoring the old fashioned way. Dirty hands and the smell of oil..Lovin' it :D

Thank you! I hope to pop up to a meet sometime and have a chat with the members from here, and have a browse of the cars.

Sad to hear about the quality of the cars MiniMan was producing, but good to be on here to head in the right direction!

Welcome to TMF :)
