Hi
last year when i sprayed some localised repairs on Boris i used Custom Mixed Cans and was really happy with the finish :D
Our local paint Factors didnt do Celulose so id ordered a few cans and said id pick them up later after doing some shopping,in the middle of my shopping i started to panic so headed back to the factors as soon as!

I told him my concerns i said 2K is pretty dangerous i dont have a booth and i was spraying outside in the street.
He chuckled and said dont worry it is in essence 2K but has an added mix to Convert it to 1K to make it safe to spray from a can without poisioning you >_<

Having moved on and wanting to do a full respray on Boris im now wondering if they can mix 2k and convert it to !K for making cuztom Cans am i able to buy the Same Converted 2K-1K paint loose in a big can to thin down for use in a proper Gun?

And if mixed in the same way as for in a Can im Assuming i can then use it in a Gun without the need for a booth if i just wear a mask without endangering myself or poining myself or anybody else?

My previous Custom Cans were made by Mipa if that Helps?

Any info would be Welcome :dontgetit:

As far as Im aware you cannot magically convert one from the other, but I may be wrong!

All they do when mixing them into aerosols for you is thin the paint and add a drying additive, it will still most likely be 2k.

Okeys Thanks :D
Just what they said in the paint factors :)

It been suggested to me its probably celulose in the cans but they call it 1k?
Mipa do this though i wondered if this is what use?

i asked about this when i first joined the forum. it was to spray on with a gun, not rattle cans.
i went to buy some more celly to finish my mini but they had stopped doing it so he sold me 2k with 1k convertor in, i think its classed as acrylic then.
my question was how many coats to put on etc but no replies.
