Starting My Mini Up

Hi

Having dithered for ages and decided that a mini was for when I was young or when the children had left home, both of which are many years from now, finally decided that now was as good a time as any. Haven't stopped grinning since I brought 'Mabel' home yesterday!! Mabel is a 1989 Mini Flame in great nick - my fourth mini. The first three I had within three years when I was 19-21 ... 20 years ago, so this mini seems new to me! It seems so familiar - the hum of the engine, the purring exhaust .... only difference really is that there are four children to try and squidge in! Before it was only as many people as I could fit in coming home from the pub .... so actually, four small things shouldn't be a problem at all ...

Mabel needs some work - new doors to begin with and probably a load of stuff that I haven't noticed yet through my very rose coloured specs. There are quite a few other minis around to go on jaunts with - we think we could set up the Southern Most Mini Club as we are all on the Lizard.

The forum looks great - loads of info which I'm sure I will need! Might be a bit of a one way street though as although I patched up one of my earlier minis quite successfully I think I've forgotten more than I ever knew ...
