Hey guys i've been browsing this forum for a couple of weeks whilst i was looking for a mini and now i finally have one!
I just recently sold off my polo and now i am the proud owner of a 1989 Mini Mayfair.
I just thought that i'd pop myself on here and introduce her and also to ask a few questions. Firstly, there is quite a severe oil leak coming from off the Sump and i was wondering if there are any common faults that could cause this? the engine still runs perfectly fine and it's not hindering her performance at all.
Also, the sealing round the back windows has shrunk back and has left gaps from the body of the car. Could anyone recomend me a good place to buy some window sealing stuff from?

Welcome to the forum mate

Car looks nice and clean from the picture, is it standard throughout?

As for the leak, wipe away as much as you can around the whole gearbox/sump and then check to see where it starts from, it might be higher up so have a good look.

If your lucky it might just be something like the rocker cover gasket is not sitting properly?

Cheers mate. Yeah it's standard all over except for Mini Lite alloys
I also plan to change most of the trim all round to nicer chrome instead of grey plastic as its a bit manky to be honest.
yeah i have a bottle of degreasant stuff so im gonna attack the engine with that this evening........if it stops raining ever!
