Hello all,
Need to fit my new carpet this coming weekend and not 100% sure on how to go about it. I have found this post here to be helpful but does not cure my problem. Can anyone tell me where the points are where the carpet clips rivet down because either my car does not have them (it's a early 1990 Racing Green) or I'm not looking hard enough. Also, does the heater need dropping out a tad to get the bulkhead carpet in?
If anyone could help me it would be a great help, Dave.

I didn't take my carpet out for my carpet but it's quite tricky, I used spray glue but it only lasted around 3 months then all fell off. I have now used no more nails double sided tape and it seems to have done the trick, will have to see how ling it lasts though.

Thanks for the tip. Did you not use the carpet clip set the Minispares sell then?

what carpet set have you bought??
I didn't use clips, the pieces are all shaped, or so I thought they where??
They basically sit in place without any hassle, simply take your seats out, remove your seat brackets, if you have a centre console/kick board etc. remove those, then rip out your old carpets and put your new ones in.
The only bits I glued was the cross beam section on the floor, which is a must, and then the inner arches, which didn't need doing because they have metal thingies to hold it on, but I did it anyway.
It's a future product of mine so glad you have said this!! Whats this about rivets and clips to hold carpet in??

Well, Minispares sell a set here that's supposed to hold your carpet in place. Brought it because it was only £3 odd and stumbled across this post here. Apparently these clips rivet down to specific raised points on the floorpan to hold it all in place, but I can't find these points. If nobody knows then I will just glue it all in place.
The carpet set itself is only a cheap one from MiniTrimmings. Brought it because I liked the material is was made out of.

mm my standard rover original carpets didn't have those clips like Mini Spares claim... its a 96 Mini, so perhaps its only the late Coopers that had them?
My experience says you wont need any fixings or glue for the big floor carpets there well shaped and simply sit in place without moving.
