Hi
My engine is a 998 cooper engine, and am in the process of replacing the gaskets for the timing cover/front plate. Anyway, I am now going to replace the front plate, and the camshaft end plate. What torque setting should all of these be?
To secure the front plate, there are three bolts which are used for the camshaft plate, and two more at the bottom (all put in before the timing gear cover is replaced).
Thanks
John

There's a list of torque settings pinned to the front of this section.

HiThere's a list of torque settings pinned to the front of this section.
On there I cant see torque settings for the front plate (including the camshaft end plate).
What value should I use for those, and also the two 1/4 inch bolts at the bottom of the front plate?? (before I replace the timing cover)
Thanks

From the list:
Timing Cover and Front Plate 1/4in UNF bolts 4 to 6 0.55 to 0.83
Timing Cover and Front Plate 5/16in UNF bolts 10 to 14 1.4 to 1.9
first figs are ft/lb, second kg/m

Hi, well, i have just replaced everything on the car, and tightened the 3 camshaft plate bolts to 6 lb ft. Will that be a problem?
Thanks
