I've had bad experiance with engine builders, last year I bough a "New" Engine and gearbox, but it uses oil almost as fast as it does petrol, and and the hot oil pressure is not enough to keep the oil pressure warning lamp off. The gearbox seems ok, but I fear that I will need to get the job done properly. Can anyone recommend someone who really can rebuild a mini engine?

I live near Chester.

Model:998 cooper
Year:1964
Description of problem (please be as in depth as possible):Low oil pressure and excessive oil consumption

Any non-standard parts that might be involved with the problem? 276 Cam & duplex timing chain

Yes, I was advised to put it on a rolling road by the installers, I took it to Hereford and the it was there that I noticed the blue smoke, by the time I returned home I needed a litre of oil!!

I saw 55 BHP on the dyno.
