Ive been looking at the Hammerite section in shops but theres so many to choose from, just wondering what kind of paint, is suitable? just general outdoor railing paint ?

None of it, its **** :P

Well in my experience anyway.
It doesn't flex and starts to crack up and fall off. Fine on a gate/fence but not on a car.

POR15 from frost.co.uk.
To be fair to hammerite its a lot easier to use though! POR is a pain to get off things; skin, hair, brushes etc.

i use hammerite smooth,i think it works a treat.

can it be thinned down for use with a spray gun?

wickes outdoor steel paint.
Its better than hammerite smooth and I'm sure its cheaper. A few of the landy guys used to use it, the rest used Por15. Not many liked hammerite.
