i've just swapped my drop gears to straight cut ones and am trying to torque up the first motion shaft nut up to 150lb ft. How am i supposed to secure it, to do it up? i've been trying this evening but cant even get it to 110 lb ft!
cheers,

Do it by the book........... it works
So that would be engaging two gears at once then. I'll have a read into it tonight and let you know how i get on!

In theory yes, but you'd still be using the final drive pinion and whatever gear you put it in. I don't think you'd break a healthy box by engaging 2 gears, it's how it's been done for years.
Cool thanks, for your help. I'll engage 2 gears and give it a go first thing tomorrow.
