I intend to buy some wheels. Hopefully at L2B if i see them. If i dont i have a choice between hudderfield spares which have a bad rep. If i get them from there, i know it may take a while but its the ones i want. However midland wheels have them too and was wondering if anyone used them before?
thanks

midland wheels are OK if your buying wheels and tyres but NEVER EVER buy ANYTHING else from them as they stock absolutely rubbish cheap stuff and sell it at normal prices.

you have been warned :goaway:

You cant really go wrong with wheels aslong as their balnced correctly.

The chairman of our Owners club bought some wheel studs from them and had all 4 shear on one wheel as he was going round a round about, very scary stuff. When he contacted MWS they said can you prove you bought them from us? if not then chuff off basically. They even threatened to take legl action against him if he persued it any further.

also some of there wheels you should not go anywhere near!!

their 10" range.

they put the Tyre lever groove in the middle of the wheel, when it should be at the side.

most tyre fitters wont even try to fit tyres into them, and if they do they are likely to damage the bead of the tyre and make it useless.
this means that they are basically the only people that can get the tyres onto the rims so you would need to send them back to them so they can fit new tyres, but they still manage to damage the tyres most of the time.

I have seen shocking photos of alloys purchased from Midland, left in a shed wrapped for 6 months. The laquer has all come off and they are corroded! Seen it on branded wheels (revos etc), seen it on stored wheels, used wheels, and quite a few cases of it too. Would definately steer clear......

i dont know what all the trouble is with huddersfield. bought some 10 x 6 minilites with tyres from them on the 2007 London to Brighton, and now, 2 years later, they look as new as the day i put them on - seriously!! the quality is AMAZING!!

had some 10 x 6 from midland wheels on there when i bought it, and had such trouble trying to get tyres fitted (snapped 4 yoko tyres before giving up!!) i just ran on steelies until brighton.

and ive recently tried to get a replacement wheel for a damaged set and they have been useless.

i have to say huddersfield did just fine.

go with huddersfield. sure the service can be crap (though not experienced it myself) but the products are quality.

my wheels have no lacqure peel, not rusting, not paint lifting and no damage after 2 years.

I've also had no problems with Huddersfield Spares, only made a few small orders with them but postage has been quick and never had any problems with the products used.

huddersfield are fine until you want a refund or replacement or anything. that's when the trouble starts. if you order the exact wheels you want, youll be fine.

I have a set of 10x6 Revos from Midland Wheels got them about 2 years ago they turned up fast and are decent quality. Can't comment on how they last outdoors as they were only fitted for a few months and never driven on. Don't really suit my car now so I suppose my only option is buying a new Mini to fit them too!
