I ve got 13s at the moment, and the ride is poo. so i want 10s, but i have sports back arches whereby 10 may look too small in the arch. Are 12s any good and whats thes ride like?

Fine
Also if your set on 10s, have a search as there was a topic about a Mini with sportspack and 10s

The best thing u can do is swap 13" wheel for some 10" wheels you like, they will fill arches (some wheels will require adeguate spacers) will look nice (i prefer their look), u'll have a massive ride improvement, less bearings/ball joints issues, lighter steering, and car seems to be faster with teenies.

or go the 6x12 route which fill sports pack and that width of arch nicely.
im running group 6 arches (which are a similar width to sports pack arches) with no spacers just standard suspension, i think it looks pretty phat lol

12's offer a good compromise between looking fairly beefy, and handling fairly well. tehy still give a fairly numb feeling when compared to the nimble chuckability of a mini on tens, but they're worlds better than nasty 13's, and still look pretty cool with sportpack arches.
12's also don't involve a change of brakes, and the higher profile tyre on a 12 makes the ride much better.
