My friend who is coming with me on london to brighton has broken her foot! She's still coming but has a cast up to her knee and is on crutches :D

Has anyone ever managed to squeeze a wheelchair in the back of a mini? We can fit her crutches in the mini but she's not the best on them and gets tired, so with all the walking along the seafront we really need a wheelchair!

I've rung the Red Cross and we can hire one from them for a small donation.

My dad has a bike rack but it used to go on a Volvo. Not sure if it'll fit on a mini :D

I'll ask on there now thankyou bungle

Most of them fold-up a bit don't they?

Alternatively we need other ways of moving my friend around. She's very light but I still can't carry her along Brighton seafront!!

lol!

I have a webasto roof though :w00t:

We thought we'd have to take the front seat out and have her sat on the back with her cast stretched out! But she had it put on a couple of weeks ago and we did a dummy drive the other weekend, s'all ok and she can cram in the front.

She's going to have fun camping on the sat night :D

You can probably take the wheelchair apart somewhat.. normally wheels can come off (depending if its got big wheels (e.g if you push yourself along) or small ones) and various bits should come apart by just pulling!

I wish she was even a tiny bit as good as that guy! That would be amazing! But sadly she really isn't. She has to go on her bum up and down stairs :(

Ooh I don't know? anyone got a roof rack for a mini we can borrow?

Could just tow it behind the mini? Or maybe not....

edit: Timtom thats an idea, I wonder if the Red Cross mind us doing that though? I suppose they don't have to know.... :D

You can get foldable transport wheelchairs, they will fit easy but not sure if the Red cross would have these? You dont really want to be buying one just for an event?

And yes they wont mind aslong you put it back together and dont tell them! :xmas:

Not sure where else you can hire one from?
