Hello all, and i hope you had a good time at the L2B today.
I have just ordered a Megajolt box of tricks!! :) ;)
And was wondering...
1. How much difference does the Megajolt make to the low down lumpyness of a wild cam.
2. Does this dampening effect mean i can have an even wilder cam!! :)
3. Can you tune the Megajolt for economy, so i was thinking of having a "Sports" switch in my car..so that when driving normally the ignition is set up for economy with a soft rev limiter at about 5000rpm, and set up to dampen out the cam as much as possible, so wont be that quick.
And then..
press the sports button switches over to the other ignition Map, which will have a rev limit around 7500 - 8000 rpm, and is optimised entirely for power in the high and mid rev ranges...so its like unleashing the beast lol!! would this be possible at all??

Kindest Regards
Alastair

Just had what i think is a brilliant Idea,
has anyone on here moved their radiator over to the Front, as the Distributor has been blanked off?
Turn the Radiator on its side, as the top and bottom inlets are on different sides so would have to knock up some long metal tubingt, it wouldnt be that hard to knock up some brackets to mount it to the front panel, or the Subframe. I dont know about pipes, can you get flexible hoses?
Could run a leccy fan to keep her cool in traffic? on both sides of the radiator for further cooling... possibly nick the fans from a Micra and attach them to a bracket..
Still have the fan belt running the Water pump but without the Fan on there, possibly blank it off, and put an inline water pump? would that work?
What do people wreckon? Good idea or been done before?
I see it has been done before using Metro Radiators, is the standard mini radiator not at all good for this use?

Wild cams will always be wild, where the megajolt will only improve the issue slightly, it will not over come them.

I used to run a front mount rad and have gone back to a side mount for ease and simpicity.

Oh ok Fair enough, just a sudden random thought that came to me visa ve the Radiator.
The cam i know is going to be lumpy, im going to do some further research into the SW10 to see what its like.
So how much of an effect will MJ have if mapped professionally, i notice ML Motorsport near me are starting to do a service.

Thanks for the tip on ML Motorsport doing mapping services! I'm only in Hastings so wanted somewhere I could take it to have it set up expertly.

I've just fitted MJ to my 1062 with Morspeed PH3 cam. Not got it on the road yet but seems to idle ok!

Could you let me know any more info on the ML services? Prices? How successful etc.

;)

I think you'd get better results on the (real) road. If altering the timing increases the revs then you're getting more power and have made a step in the right direction. You could use the switcheable ignition map feature.

I'd love to see a guide on getting the most from a MegaJolt setiup. The process you go through to get the 3D map perfect for economy or performance.
