Good stuff Jon, i've been researching quite a bit on exhausts recently and from what i found a cooper freeflow manifold which is 3-1 instead of an lcb which is quite popular with the small bore cars, plus if you already have most of the exhuast it seems unnecessary to buy another which is part of a stage one kit.

MMMM. Got me thinking now. My plan was 998 with a stage 3 head and stage one kit. I would buy the full kit if I was to do that as I would quite like a new zorst. The one on their was been banged against the bottom on my car for the last 6 months as my engine steady bracket and come loose from the bulk head. I also had a slight accident where I went off a rather high curb that put a massive dent in it. Its also blowing quite alot. I haven't really looked in to a cooper freeflow so I will have to do that. It only gotta last a few year anyway until I can afford to insure a 1380.

Right well heres my shopping list. If anyone on here has any of this they want to sell for would like to give me (worth a try) then send me a PM. Cheers.

998 engine
Mk2 rear lights
front and back chrome bumpers
pair of headlights
fiberglass mk1 bonnet
fiberglass mk1 boot.
Heated windscreen
cooper s 10" wheels
A brake conversion kit for the 10's
Seats (im now thinking cobra classics)
New carpets
Some new door cards
Some pressed metal number plates. (but still yellow, white and black ones)
All new front panels
mk1 grill and surround
lucas boot spot lamp
also thinking some black door circles with 83 on for the racer look

Anyone else got any ideas then I would like to hear them.

Thanks.

Well if your not looking to get an exhaust you plan to keep for a while then yeah the stage one kit will do, but if you wanted to stay small bore then i recommend investing in a really good quality, well suited one which will last you a good while, also that list is looking good, im deffinatly getting some of those number plates too, they look great, as for the bonnet i can give you some help/ideas on ways to mount it if you like, just let me know. ^_^

Well I'm only gonna have the 998 in their for about 3-4 years max. Then I'll put a 1380 in their. So I think I'll just get the full stage one kit and fit that to the new engine. Cause its such a small engine I wasn't gonna spend a huge amount of it. My main aim is to get the body work and the inside done. Then I'll start playing around with some bigger engines.

I leave college in 2011. I know that seems along way away but after I finish college I would quite like to work on a cruise ship for a couple of year so I can see as much of the worlds as I can really. That means being away as long as 6 weeks at a time. So I want to have an expensive engine on their that may start to seize.

Ok. The thing with my engine is its just botched together. It's got a 1275 head on a 998 block with a stage one kit and the wrong carb. After speaking to Brian he said it was just best to get a new one as their pretty cheap and rebulid it. Then just take mine out spray my engine bay (as mines all rusty) then plonk the new one in. That could be done in just a few days. My car will also drink fuel like theirs no tomorrow it used £20 just getting to london at back. I think thats down to the wrong carb thats just gushing fuel in to the engine. It also means it back fires lot.

HAHAHAHAHAH! The reason you will need a alternator is because Rusty absolutely well and truely buggared his so he could send the frame/case thing to the powder coaters!

Seriously, it was in like a billion pieces. With the majority of them all being broken.
He used a hammer as his main tool!

I like hammers. You can't get any work done unless you have a hammer.

Right well I am going to MiniSpeed tonight for some shopping. Well I say shopping its really just for a look round. My main reason is to ask them about brake kit so I can but disks on the my car and still be able to fit 10's. Im probably come back with something though knowing what I'm like.

Yea their right next to the old Brooklands race track. Well nothing major but I bought these. I can now fit my weather shield so that should help me out a bit in this bad weather.

Also had a look at some seats, wheels and brakes.

Right well I fitted my weather shield. I went out in the rain to do it how British. At least now I shouldn't have a problem in heavy rain.
