Looks wicked mate :)

Love the style with the door circle - retro  - maybe more black bits needed though? Or some retro-ish rally bits needed?

Matt

Well I'm looking for more of a retro racer rather then a retro really car. Its gonna have a mk1 grill and im also thinking of overrides with corner bars as well. For the inside I'm now thinking. Black carpet. Black cobra classics and black door cards with plastic door handles and door pockets. A retro looking roll cage may be added when I can afford to insure it with one.

Right well I got these today from Roberts.

Stealth Speaker boards. Means I can have a nice loud sound system without it looking chavy and wrecking the classic/retro look.

Got a few more bits.

My LED sidelight. Hopfully these should give my angel eyes a nice bright white ring around the main light.
Posted Image

Also popped in to Halfords to get these for the parcel shelf to replace my cheap Ministry Of Sound ones.
Posted Image

Gonna go out in bit a fit my speaker boards and speakers and maybe the side lights as well.

I'v fitted the LED side lights. They looks so much better then the normal ones. It's to light out side to get a decent picture at the moment but well get one when its dark. I'v now just started to mount the speakers to my speaker boards. I dont know if I'll get them fitted tonight or not as I have work later but we shall see.

Thanks.

Got a picture of my sidelights. They look blue in this picture but they are bright white. They look so much better then the old lights.

I wont be keeping the angel eyes on for much longer though as I want some more standard lookign lights. But not sealed beams. I like being able to see where I'm going.

I'm debating plain halogens, or angeleyes... Hmmmm.

Looking good though mate ;)

I was thinking role-cage too - try the insurance company... Might not increase it much. With Footman James, my Mini is £700 tpft, butttt, was originally a 998, and now a 1275. They didn't go mad at all. Only a bit more than a stock 1275 would be she said. Role cage might not make a huge difference at all. Depends who you're with I guess.

Yea I guess your right. I need to do the panels and get it re-sprayed before I start thinking of a roll cage anyway so hopefully my insurance would have gone down by then anyway.

Yeah deffo priority. Surface rust/any holes I find are first up on mine, then MOT certificate! ...Thennnn cosmetics!

A retro role cage would look sweet in yours though with the door sticker. >_<

Right well small update. Been talking to a few people about some 998 engines. Someones offered me £25 for an engine and a front subframe. I also took my mini on a treasure hunt. I wont a bottle of wine for doing it in the fastest time. I had quite a smelly clutch by the time I had finished. Stupidly by going everywhere flat out I missed most of the answers to the questions. So I also got the least amount of points and won a spoon.

My Spoon.

My cars also now very dirty after whizzing round the countryside so need to give it a clean before the mini show next weekend.

An engine and a front subframe for £25? Have it?

Could refurb the subframe and it'll be worth twice that alone, or keep it as a spare, you'll probably need one oneday... Engine would be handy to just tinker/practice with, and leave you with some spare parts?

Well I need a new engine in my car. Although its bloody quick for a 998 its over fuels back fires and its just bogged together. My new engine will have a stage 3 head and a stage one kit on it and that will last me a few years until I put a 1380 in it.
