Right so I went out to have a crack at stripping the engine. Didn't really do much as I only had the basic tools that I keep in the car and most of the nuts have seized. What I did get done was remove the rad hoses and drained the rad. I'v also cleared out some space in the garage so I can move it in the garage. I'm gonna go and get some engine degreasant later so I can start cleaning it up a bit.

Top hose off.

Rad Drained.

Am I right in saying thats a steering rack? I never changed one before so I don't know what they look like.

Cheers. Yea it was pretty complete. It even came on the subframe complete with wheels still attached but I had to take all that off to get it in the car car so I don't have any pictures of that.

Any ideas on how much a steering rack is worth. I don't really need it.

Not for a while yet.

I'm gonna be doing the engine and bodywork this year through the summer while I have the good weather. Then at the end of the year I'll start on the interior and all the gadgets. And theirs alot of gadgets to go in.

Right well not such a good day today. I went to have a look at a pair of door off a mini. Got to the scrappy and one of the door had already been taken off and some dumbass had dropped it and wrecked the corner. I'm going back their monday so I may offer them £30 for the doors and see what they say. I dont know if it can be fixed or not though. I may also buy the boot lid as it was pretty much rust free. Anyway I have also now found myself a carb for my new engine which I'm buying for £10 Bargin. I'm hoping to strip some more of the engine 2moz ready to fit the new head.

Hard to explain. The window frame is coming apart from the rest of the door. It probs could be welded but it wouldnt look to great plus the doors both need reskining anyway so I may as well just get some new doors.

The bit right at the front? Near to where the mirrors would fit? Mines gone in exactly the same place on one of my Minis! :(

Yea thats the spot the passenger sides really bad. I had notset it but Rusty bought it back to my attention not so long ago so I thought I may as well replace the door before I get the car re painted.
