Where did I take the pictures?

The first picture is at view point just outside Basingstoke. Its basically at the top of a big hill where you can look over the whole of the town. The last two pictures are taken from Watership Down just outside Kingsclere.

Its going in over half term while I'm away on holiday so when I get back I should come back to a mini with a nice rust free front.

I'v also worked out why the heaters not working. After coming back from my long drive the other day I opened the bonnet and this bit here was boiling hot. So my guess is that its broken or blocked so I'm gonna buy a new one to see if that solves the problem.

O yes and my drivers side rear wheels bearings gone so I need replace that as well. I needed to get it done before my next MOT anyway as it was a advisory on my last MOT.

Going to MiniSpeed in a min to go get a grill so will get a picture of that when I get home.

Thats about it me thinks.

Right well I got my grill today. I was also thinking of getting a boot lid but they don't sell the double skin ones so I'll order one from minispares instead.

Anyway heres my grill.

I may get a mustache as well I'm not sure yet. I do quite like the look of it with out one but we shall see once its on the car.

Thats it for now.

Cheers.

Well what an eventful day today has been. I went to college in my mini today as I do everyday. Anyway on the way my car started to smell really bad I looked at my heater gauge and my engine was right up in the red. Anyway I got in to the college car park opened my bonnet and steam was coming the engine. I checked the rad and their was hardly any water in their which was weird as I filled it up Monday as I do every week. Anyway to help the engine cool down I took the weather shield off and chucked it in the boot. Anyway before I left go home I filled the rad up and set off. By this time it had started raining heavily (can you see where this is going) anyway going down the main road home in a que of cars my car started to go all jumpy and then just stopped. Me being retarded forgot to put the weather shield back on before I left. Anyway I got out to push it to the side of the road. Got yelled at by some cockhead in a BMW as I didn't have my hazards on (cause they don't work) then some nice trucker pulled over and helped me push it to the side of the road. Where I put some WD40 all over the engine. It still wouldn't go. So I rang Brian the Basingstoke Mini Club mechanic up and see told me to take the dizzy off to see if their was water trapped in their. I did that dyed it out with my mates scarf (she not happy about that) Put some more WD40 on everything and she coughed in to life. I sat their with the engine on to get some warmth in the engine to dry it out a bit more. She then drove home brilliantly and seemed better then she had in a while.

So basically to all mini owners make sure you have the following things in your car.

1. A weather shield
2. WD40
3. A cloth of some sort.

Thats it for now. Lets hope I'm never that stupid again. >_<

Will be good to get all the rot cut off,be prepared for more rot under the scuttle and around the vents , will be evident once the front is removed

I cant say for sure about the scuttle. But I know theirs no rot around where the vent holes should be as I don't have any vents lol. I was planning on fitting some when the fronts redone but I'm unsure. I may just fit my dash with the vents but but some tweeters behind them instead.

Right well today I went and bought a pair of new tiers for the front. Didn't really want to but they were getting close to being illegal so I had to really. I also but a new wheels baring on the back. Although I still have a problem of the car pulling to the right when I brake. Anyone know how I can solve that?

Did the other rear wheel baring this morning before the F1. So I now have both new rear wheel bearings and 2 new front tiers and a very light wallet. I'm gonna get the car booked in to the garage to have the brakes tweaked as its less hassle then trying to do it all my self.

Cheers. I'm really happy with it. I just cant wait now until goes in for her body repairs. So she will be pretty rust free. Once the insurance is out the way I can start saving for the re-spray. :P

Will do. Today I did somthing I had been meaning to so for ages. I cleaned all the petrol spills off the side of my car. Just need to get the rest of the car cleaned now. Also does anyone know if you can fit the mk2 rear lights without taking the petrol tank out?
