Right well today I gave my rear light lenses a shower. They now look good as new. I'm well impressed.

O yes I forgot to add that I have found 5 OEW steels not far from me that are for sale for £40. I'm hoping to pick those and my grill mustache up on Monday.

He only had door for an early mini with external hinges. The hunt for a good pair of doors continues.

So instead I spent the morning getting quotes for my insurance. I rang up Adrian flux who quoted me £1800 and that was with my TMF plus discount. So I'm still on the hunt for a quote I can afford.

At the moment I'm stuck in a catch 22. I can pay to get all the work done and have the car ready for riv run and L2B but not have insurance so wont be able to go. Or I can pay for the insurance but not have a car on the road. So I'll be paying to insure a car thats sat in the garage doing F all. Being young sucks sometimes.

Get in touch with Footman James (0121 561 4196) - they'll offer you a classic car policy (it came to £667.70 TPFT on the Mayfair and £1109.25 TPFT on the Cooper - and I'm 18).

All right I'll give them a try 2moz cheers. I'v got a renewal quote for £1300. Although I only realized when I got the letter that I had a limited milage for 2000 miles. I'v done almost 4 times that this year. So if I ring them up tell them to up my milage and tell them about the fiberglass boot and bonnet their probably gonna end up putting it up so that may even end up at £1800.

I'm now insured for another year with all mods declared.

1275 head
Stage one kit
Minilights
Fiberglass bonnet and boot
mk1 grill
and sound system

Came to a grand total of £1350. Still stupidly expensive but still cheaper then £1800 the other 4 places quoted me.

Just read all this from the start, you've certainly put the effort in and your mini looks a million times better than at the start. Looking forward to seeing the new front end on, remember to get it all waxoiled or it'll be rusty again in no time!
