Right well I have an update today. I spotted a while ago that my floor pans were in quite a mess so decided to do something about it. So I took out all the carpits and underlay. Which was worth it as I found £1.06 under their lol.

Driverside floor pan.

Carpets and seats removed

Money
Posted Image

So I removed loads of the sound proofing stuff of the floor and ground the rust off and found this giant hole
Posted Image

I then primed the bits I sanded back.
Posted Image

Then Tommy decided to pop round. Here he is helping. NOT.
Posted Image

I then took the rear window out as it had been leaking pretty badly.
Posted Image

I then put it back in with a bit of sealant as well as fitting my brake light.
Posted Image

I also found a place that sold panels. He can get me the panels I need to me next day which is good so at the end of the month I may order some floor pans and some outer and inner sills.

O yea I almost forgot. I didn't get any pictures but my spare wheel that was looking all dirty and rusty. I striped it all back and painted it black so that now looks alot tidier.

In the need I just went and brought a brand new mk1 fiberglass bonnet so it didn't have the lip on. My last bonnet was pretty mullered though lol.

Cheers. Yea gotta keep it on the road it my only way of getting around. Still looking for another one that I can get properly stuck in to. Nearly got one the other day but someone had but a deposit on it just before I got a chance.

Right well another update. Was driving back from work last night and my car stated making a knocking noise. It sounded like it was coming from the rear drivers side wheel. It also seemed like it was every 1 turn on the wheels was the noise was in a regular pattern. It also seemed to stop when I went slow. Anyone got any ideas what it could be. I don't think it could be wheel bearings as they were done not long ago. I'm gonna go and check all the wheel nuts in a second to make sure their tight. If anyone else has any ideas let me know.

Right well what a day. On the way to college my car was making a noise. Drive all the way to college about 12miles go their and realised my wheel was about to fall off. Not knowing what had happened I went to Brian the mini. Who of course got it sorted for me. What had happened is my wheel studs have rounded off so they were moving abit which then started to loosen the wheel nuts. Anyway we got the wheel on tight for now and it will last until I can get some new studs at beaulieu on sunday. The problem I now have is getting the nuts off as the studs just spin. Anyway I shall sort that when the times comes. I also bought 2 new tyers as they were starting to crack on the wall and were an MOT advisory. So after a hectic day and expensive day I'm now home with a drivable car again. I just need to keep checking that wheel to make sure it stays tight.

EDIT. O yea I got a picture of my car at the wheel place.

Right well not a great update bet here we go. I bought a pair of yellow headlight covers off ebay. I don't think I'm gonna fit them though. I also bought some new wheel studs at Beaulieu so I can sort the wheel out. But I gotta say I'v not really done anything other then top up the oil and give it a wash. I'v kinda lost all motivation in it at the moment. I was gonna sort the brake out give them a repaint and get them ready to fit but just laid in bed watching TV instead. Bad I know. I'm sure I'll get motivated again soon and I'll be back with some proper updates.

Right well today on the way to college my wheel did the same thing again where the wheel came loose. Luckily not far from my house so I just drive slowly back home. I had got some new wheel studs at Beaulieu so decided to try and fix it.

Got the wheel off and you can see the problem straight away. The studs just went straight in to the brake.

Posted Image

So I took everything off. You can see how dangerous this had got.
Posted Image

If one of the nuts had come off while I was moving the stud would have gone back in to the brake making it lock up.

Anyway I dont think the studs are the problem as they dont seem to have rounded off.
Posted Image

But if you look and the holes the studs go though they are completely smooth. I dunno if you will be able to tell in the picture.
Posted Image

I know someone who said they had one I could have I just now cant get round to get it :) When my mates finished work I'm gonna beg him to take me round their. And hopefully get it all back so I can drive it to college 2moz.

EDIT. O yea and my new wheel studs are a small bit longer so I hope that dont cause me even more problems.

Right well heres the new bit I got today.

Posted Image

I then got the wire brush out and got rid off all the rusty horrible stuff but forgot to get a picture of it. I then painted it Black.

Posted Image

I'm now just waiting for that to dry so I can start fitting it all back together.

Right well I put everything back together.

Posted Image

Back on her wheels

Posted Image

I then started my disc brakes. While I had the wire wheel on the drill I thought I may as well start taking the calipers back to the metal ready for painting.

Posted Image
Got that one finished.

Posted Image

This one still needs some of the paint taking off.

They will be painted black as I'v decided I didnt like the yellow.

I also got my new discs fitted. Although they need to come back off when I get the wheel studs.

Posted Image

Thats about it for today. Got quite a bit done which makes up for me not doing anything for the past few weeks.

Thanks. :)

Right well today I started on the dash. As my speedo kept falling out and the only thing stopping the stuff fall through the gap is a run plaque I decided to sort it out a bit. This is not permanent but shall last until I decided what I want to do with the dash.
Any heres what it looked like.
Posted Image

Cleared everything off.
Posted Image

Got some think wood and cut this out. With a bit of trimming it fitted really well.
Posted Image
and then did the other side.
Posted Image

I'm pretty pleased with it as it only took about 20 mins.

I also screwed my speedo down to the wood as well to stop it falling off.

Thats it for today. Got the next 2 days off so should get some more work done.

Right well today I got a bit done. I sanded the rest of the calipers down so they were all bare metel. I again forgot to take pictures while doing it but their. After that I painted them Matt Black. I think they've come out quite well.

Posted Image

They look so much better then they did yellow anyway. All I need is some wheel bearings and then the discs are ready to go on.
