Cheers mate. Got another small update. My passenger side air vent cover had a hole in it from where the aerial cable went. Anyway now I dont have an aerial on the wing the hole wasn't needed and my mate kept moaning that stuff was flicking though their. So to keep her happy I decided to make a new one.

Anyway these are the bits i'm not about.
Posted Image

Took the one that had a hole in off.
Posted Image

I then found an old weather shield I had laying around. Thanks Si. And marked it out.
Posted Image

I then cut it out and drilled the screw holes out and fitted it.
Posted Image

I need some more screws as for some reason I only have 5 screws for 8 holes. Anyway. It pretty cool. It stops all the stuff getting though and you can see the wheel going round. Its not gonna stay clear though as I'm betting it will go all horrible pretty quick. I'm gonna get some metal and make some ones that look like the old ones.

I may do but the thing is I have a habbit of changing my mind. So I'd rather put the little panels their so I can take them of again if I need to.

Right well I got a couple of parcels today. Got a new speedo cable as mines broke and I also got some sound proofing. Even better. I have the day of college 2moz so I may make some progress. Also my cars started to feel weird. The steering seems looses although it has for a good few months and my brakes just didn't feel right. Again they haven't been adjusted since just before L2B and being drums I bet that what it is. I'll probs adjust the brakes 2moz and when I'm at Gaydon I'll see what people think of my steering. Maybe its just me. It has passed it MOT since I thought it started to feel weird so it can be anything dangerous other wise they would have picked up on it..

Right I'v not updated this in a while now.

A while ago I bought a set of yellow headlight covers for £8 and then a few days ago I found another pair for 99p although 1 had no clips but for 99p I'm not complaining. Here they are.

Posted Image

I also bought this electric fan to mount to the wing for £5

Posted Image

I got this fiberglass center console for £10 at Gaydon.

Posted Image

Then I got a right bargain. Someone I know just bought a mini that had a set of newton door cards in. He didn't want these and was gonna take all the stuff off and recover them. Anyway as mine were just some ugly plan ones and where in a nasty state the guy swapped them with me. So he's no gonna recover my old ones and I have a nice set of newton ones that didnt cost me a thing.

Posted Image

I have also finally got my speedo fixed. I did have it working but it came off the gear box so I got that back on today. And I also got some engine cleaner and started cleaning my other engine off.

Posted Image

I'v also got a few other bits done like mark out where I need to drill and cut on my new boot lid and drilled the wholes in my new number plates although I didn't bother getting pictures of that.

Also if you look back though this project you will see I bought a set of 5 OEW steels for £40. Anyway as these wont fit over the brakes I'm putting on I'm selling these on so if anyones interested let me know.

Thanks.

Right well I'v been at stuff with my black paint again. Gave the calipers their final coat of paint. I also did a few other bits.

I'v also started to sand back the rear plates ready to be painted.

Not long ago I bought another set of discs to go on a mini I never ended getting lol. Anyway I also stated cleaning those up but have left them as one piece until I'v finished the first ones so I can see how they go back together if I get stuck.

Posted Image

I'm missing one of the back plates on this pair as well so I'm after one of these.

I also bought a set of 5 avon safety wheels a couple of days ago for the price for £25 they need a refurb but I'm not complaining for £25. I'll get some pics when they arrive.

Thats it for now.
Thanks.

The only fiberglass bit I have is the center console. The top bit is the bit I'm buying. I need to get a few other gauges as well.

Right well today I went to the Newbury Classic Car show. The only thing I bought was a mini 1000 boot badge in pretty good nic for £1. I also got a free center speedo. Also I'm kicking myself at the moment. Their was a guy their selling a pair of mini mini doors in pretty good nice for £30. I said I would see if I could get them home. After working out I could get them home I went back and they guy just sold them as I got their. Bloody typical. Their was also a really nice set of momo wheels for £75. I went back too have another look at those and to make an offer but again they had been sold. Never mind. I'll get some pics of the speedo and badge later.

Right well I'v been doing a few small jobs over the last few days. Mostly getting rid of as many of the rattles as possible. First was the heater plate thing. The little bit the slider come though as come off and was loose. So I fixed that with a bit of blue tack. Then to the parcel shelf. The wooden speaker board wasn't fixed down so kept banging while going over bumps. So I put some of my left over sound proofing on the parcel shelf and on the bottom of the speaker board. I then stuck some velcro to both bits of sound proofing. Meaning now the speaker board is fixed down. Then to the speakers them self. They were a tad loose of rattled around. That was an easy fix. I just took the speakers off and put them back on with some rubber washers. Then dont move at all now. The other thing making alot of the noise was the stuff in my boot. As I dont have a boot board it was just all banging around on the metal floor. I took everything thing out and found an old towel. I folded that in half and laid it across the bottom of the boot floor and put everything back in. And it worked really well. I also took a load of stuff out the rear bins and put that in the boot as well. Anyway its made one hell off a difference. The only bit that I still need to do is my fiberglass bonnet. That rattles a bit but my mates got some old heater hose that I'm gonna use to solve that.

I'v also been making myself a rat bonnet for when I do a few veedub shows with my mate in his Mk4 golf. A mate of mine did a Beano one which I thought was pretty cool so I thought I would have ago at doing something for mine. Its only been outside for a couple of days now so hasn't rusted much yet. I just need to get a set of bonnet pins for it and drill the holes and its done. If it come out well then I may buy a cheap pair of bumpers and rust those as well.

Anyway I think thats about it for now. Thanks.
