I know exactly where those arches are!
I know its a BMW there working on, but it still makes for a pretty good viewing!

That program makes me laugh, especially how deluded Leepu is, he keeps banging on about being some fantastic car designer, all he's doing esentially to 99% of the cars he does, is just make big wheel arches and running boards. Plus, chopping off a roof then welding a new one from a new car can't be safe!

Also, his unit is on google street view.

Agreed!
But its pure east London entertainment!

Man, I lost count of the amount of times I walked down that street on a Saturday morning after a HEAVY Friday night when my mate lived in Bethnal green.

To each their own but I can't stand the program and watching Leepoo and the little guy row became boring after five minutes plus I think the designs look like something a three year old would come up with.

My mate is in the London Taxi trade and has to visit a few businesses around where their arch is. He is a panel beater by trade and recons the work done by Leepoo is shocking and the finished result only looks any good (by good he means if you stand a good 20 to 30 feet away) because of the amount of filling and finishing the other guys do. Personally I think the designs are awful and some of the bodges they have to do to get the mechanical side of the cars to work are shocking. Their work is not a patch on what Chip Foose and his team produce on Overhaulin.

aye.....Overhaulin' is cool!
Some of those cars are just ridiculous...they must spend thousands on them!! And unlike Pimp My Ride they only tend to put the bits that matter on the cars! (i.e. no bowling ball ramp or ridiculously large tv - just a brand new race-tuned engine or similar!) The reactions they get from the cars owners is always really corny though!

American tv....you've gotta love it!

I have been enjoying west coast customs new tv programme called Street Custom
West coast customs were the first garage to do pimp my ride, and it seems they parted with MTV because it was MTV who wanted to do the stupid disco ball type stuff.

Here you go, http://turbo.discove...overhaulin.html

The show is hosted by a couple of young good looking presenter types (AJ is lovely >_< ) and Chip Foose who is a full on customiser type bloke. I really love the vision and detail he has for the cars and the free hand drawings he does for each car are fantastic.

The basic premise of the show is that they pretend to steal someone’s old beaten up pride and joy and give it a full makeover using tips from friends and family to how the mark (victim) would like their car to be if they had the time/talent/money to do it themselves. Whilst the work is being done the show hosts prank the mark with various phone calls pretending to be from police etc to wind them up a bit, and the show builds up to a big reveal when the finished vehicle is given back. My favorite is the fast back Mustang they did for a wheelchair bound guy, it was absolutely stunning.

edit : They seem to repeat the series on Discovery Realtime every now and again.

Overhaulin' is good, sometimes the acting can be corny. American Hotrod is another one of my favourites. Also Wrecks to Riches USA is interesting.
