My engine block has a very strange engine number stamped on it (327455), not conforming to any of the standards used in minis. It also has some engravings on the block that I'd like to know if they are standard or a special kind of engine:

The first one reads "WFM 1026/4 N W X"

The other one seems like a logo with the letters "EB" inside of it.

Here is a picture of them for reference.

Can anybody tell what those engravings mean?

Thanks

So, I may assume it's an original motor (rover).

Yes it's original - however the strange engine number ( which is the bit that really matters here ) is non-rover - so perhaps at somepoint you're engine has be reconditioned by an outside company (not rare) and had a new stamp.

If you google WFM 1026/4 N W X you do get a result, but it's in French. Since your English is so good you may speak French as well? Google will translate it but the result is funny more than helpful. Also the page gives a link to general data on ID markings which may complement the ones we have on tmf. I know the words are French but hey, what must a moteur be? and numbers is numbers.

I must get out more. Now.

PS Plomb is lead.

Already googled that but I have set google to return english or spanish pages, so french was excluded from my search. I don't speak french, but some words are easy. Moteur must be motor (in spanish) which should be easy for you to get (engine).

Thanks.
