Yes that is helpful.

I take it the clutch action is awkward on a standard clutch, possibly down to the extra weight of the car?
For reversing i was going to contact promotive for details about the reverse kit.So if i can afford that then the diff issue would be ok for me.

Is yours the one in the videos on the promotive site? It sounds fantastic!

Hi,

the only thing I can say about the standard clutch in way of discribing it would be to say that when you press the clutch it felt like a brake pedal when your bleeding them. ie very light and no feel. It now needs me to actually think about pushing my foot down on the pedal if you see what I mean.

Yes mine is the black gt on the website with a few films aswell. if you look at this link theres some photos. and you will be able to see others aswell.

Im running a standard 5jj engine and very pleased with it. it surprisingly only giving out 94Dbs on the sound tests that I have to do at track days.
Im looking forward to doing a few more videos soon.

Yeah it was quite nice being that light but as you say did not last very long. Although mine lasted a bit longer than two weeks! But I did have anew standard one fitted when the conversion was done.
I keep meaning to come and say hello to you at shows but it took me a while to figure out you have now put a clubman front on your mini. Im assuming Im right about that? But as everytime I see you im in a differant mini youd probably think youve got a serise of stalkers! Think I saw you at newquey and brighton.

test drove a Promotive R1 yesterday. safe to say nothing like i have driven before. however dont know whether this is a concern or regular with this type of car, but every time i let of the accelaration especially in the lower gears it seem to make a violent clunk sound. is this normal, or to do with the mounting of the engine to the subframe?

also does anyone know if there has been any advancement in the idea of a reverse gear? whos developing one? and how much the instalation would be?

Thanks

how long could you expect the yamaha engine to last for? speaking to a lad last night and he was saying that you should rarely by a second hand R1 if its got more than like 6000 on. dont know how true this is. obviously with correct maintenance etc but how many much mileage could you expect before some major work and money would be required to keep it going?

sorry for all the questions, just need to clarify a lot of things soon. just wondering what would be a fair price to pay for a second hand promotive with around 6500 on the clock?and any ideas of average maintenance costs and what sort of things to look for viewing/buying/testdriving as it would be my daily drive?
