Hi all i need some advice,
Ive a 1989 mini thirty
Im having problems with my brake warning light rocker switch in the centre console. When i start the engine it remains not lite,If i push the brake warning light the light comes on to prove the circuit so all is good.My problem comes only when braking,When i brake the light flickers at first and then lights up solid as i come to a stand still,When i release the brakes the light turns off.
Now the reservoir fluid level is in the middle between min and max and hasnt needed topping up since i got the car,The only thing ive done in the last few weeks is replace the rear drum shoes.
So in a nut shell the light only comes on when braking starting with a flickering light then becomes solid until brake released.Ive stripped the reservoir cap and cleaned the contacts up they looked ok.
Any advice would be great

Top the fluid up to max. When you push the brake pedal the fluid level will drop in the reservoir causing the light to come on.

While topping the fluid up might sound like the easiest way to solve the problem, make sure you give your brakes a check over/get them checked over to make sure that the pads or shoes don't need replacing. As Pads wear down the piston in the caliper moves further and further out meaning all the fluid that was in your reservior is now behind the piston in the caliper.
