I was wondering if anyone has fitted non standard carpets in their mini.

In other words, something that you have cut yourself - not one of the pre cut/pre shaped newton commercial type stuff.

What's the most random carpet (and interior) on here?

I've got a carpet tile in each footwell at the moment, heater matrix is leaking coolant and I didn't want to mess up the normal carpet =]

some good ideas, the reason I ask is that cash is a bit tight at the moment, so i'm not gonna be able to get my hands on a good carpet set that i'll be happy with (you know how it is, that newton commercial full interior set just seems such a long way away...) So... in the meantime I was thinking about getting some ordinary carpet and cutting it down to fit the floorpan.

Anyone got any ideas what would be good, looking for something pretty retro and 60's
But please, not too flowery - oh and not brown... >_<

P.S. I have tried looking for this sort of stuff before - it's a pain to find, if anyone knows where it can be found it'd be much appreciated

ta

If you're on a budget then the cheap MiniSpares carpet set isn't that bad if you take your time fitting it.

The problem with household carpet etc may be geting it to be flexible enough to bend round all the curves and corners but still hold the shape you want.

I wouldn't use a sheepskin... the one's on my floor look horrific after a year or two, once they collect dirt they're a nightmare to clean :D
