Hi,

My names Charlie and iv recently purchased my first mini! loving the majority experience so far (and it definitely has been an experience).
On the way home from picking the car up it totaly konked out in the middle of extremely heavy traffic. At this point i was telling myself that i hadnt made a complete mess of buying a classic car and that it was the right decision haha. It turns out the previous owner had made a bit of a hash of fitting the air filter, no idea how and the carburetor was also shot. Anyway, a few garage visits and a fair bit of money later and it running great with the exception of the engine not having a single engine steady!!! crazy i know but a relitively cheap job i can do myself thanks to the "How-tos" on this forum. GREAT forum by the way!

Heres a little pic i took today.
You can see the cosmetic mods but it also has a K&N air filter and some kind of centre exit Sportex exhaust system that has had a Cherry Bomb attached to it, not to keen so when iv got some more dosh i'll be looking for a replacement RC40 or Playmini system.

So next on the list after the engine steadies is a stage 1 kit. Are all stage 1 kits as good as each other or is there one that stands out?

Thanks for looking
Charlie
