Hi everyone.
Its a MK1 lotus cortina race car. full appendix k which means its completely as it should be with the exception of some modern safety features eg. fire extinguisher and that sh*t.

The plan this winter was to strip the car removing the original engine for it to be rebuilt and whilst its out tidy the engine bay and clean her up abit. then put a later mk11 engine in for the time being so we test and stuff and get me used to it ready for some racing.. heres some pics of how she sits at the moment.

masked and sprayed parts of the front end to tidy her up abit

engine bay after a days cleaning.

original engine that puts out 185hp at the crank.. not bad when you think it was first made in 1963

the mk11 engine ready to go in.. has 165 hp at the crank and revs to 7500.

unmasked and awaiting the engine.

Wow
Them cars are oh so nice!
may I ask, why did you put a slower non-original engine in?

good question, Basically the older original engine is in need of a rebuild. but because we arent doing any serious competitions with it this year we saw no point in rushing the engine builder to get it done asap so we just put an L block engine into the car for now.. it also means we can complete some test miles etc if we wish without comprimising our rare and reasonably expensive race engine!

Is that Porsche an RSR? A mate of mine is into them and makes some very good replacement panels that he's supplied all over the world.

hey there, its an rs lightweight. Not quite an rsr but they arent ideal for rallying with the price of them!

Cool - I don't know the differences that well myself. He makes the rear wings etc and apparently they are about the best available - he's even supplied Jaykay!!.
