Sorry to repete the same question, I've been through 10 pages of search results and only got so far as april 2009!

Can I wire in a 3rd brake light into the existing wiring in the rear? Would it overload any of the wiring as to make fuses blow or wiring melt? It'll be a proper light not LED.

i have, and i have had no trouble! apart from the scoth blocks being rubbish and not working all the time :D

Would LEDs draw less current from the loom and therefore be less of a risk?

I have one but haven't fitted mine yet - not sure if I should.

I take it those are normal bulbs with an LED high level?

Yes, I thought they may have needed lower voltage but appaerntly not (or maybe there's a cheap and cheerful transformer built into the unit?)

I wouldn't have thought so, some fit resistors but unless it states that it needed one, I think u'll be ok (don't forget, you will be loosing a bit of voltage due to the other brake light bulb being fitted).

I have LED rear bulbs (clear lenses) - kind of blinding slightly at night.

Minimag May 2009, 10 minute tech guide on how to fit a high level brake light, if thats any help? Not sure if its LED etc etc

Its the one with Roofless's R1 purple cabrio on the front, just incase you didnt know it? >_<
