welcome graham,

hey, why's your classic got a Q plate??

This car is a Q plate because Mini Marcos used to buy new mini Cooper S’s for the log book and the parts to make their cars up.

This body shell was off to Japan before it was built to a different spec. I bought the car and turned it into what it is today. There’s a feature on this car in Mini Magazine a couple of months ago.

I knew some of you guys wouldn’t like the BMW mini in the picture…

i see, but surely you should have been able to register it on an age related plate instead of a Q plate!

We bought the car as a Q plate, the log book still shows the car as being a 'cooper s' which was the important part. I've spoken to dvla about getting a new reg, but they've told me there is no chance of this, as there is no age on the car.

Having a Q plate does however does have its advantages, when you have the mot you don't have to have an emissions test, this car would fail big time, as this car does run very rich.

The picture above is of the only 2 mini's we have.
