Hi guys,
Ive finished my 1380 SPI build, the engines in the car and have now run it in. I have got hold of the Metro GTA injector, but dont know how you remove them from the throttle body assembly. Anyone done this before? and has anyone got the part number of the injector just so i can double check its the right one before i fit it. I was also thinking do you need to increase the fuel pressure to cure lean running problems? or does simply changing the injector solve the problem.

Also i am going to buy one of these programable ECU's but would like to know a few things before i buy one (if anyone can help me out?).... such as how easy are they to set up? i assume you need a few dyno sessions? but how do you know what to do as you have no exhaust temp readings or anything? Also how in depth are the maps you create? as in how many points etc are there on the maps?

Cheers for any help anyone may be able to give me.

Which Metro GTA injector have you got.... is it from the 8 valve engine or the 16 valver?......

Adjusting the fuel pressure up a bit wont help at all unless the injector pulse width is at its max..... generally this will only be noticed at full throttle or getting toward the top end of the rev limits.... what other modifications have you done other than bore it to 1380?

Rob :)

on the injector selection, it depends alot on engine state of tune, what head cam rocker ecu combo is on it.
if factory engine just bored out and as you say reprogramable ecu, you may get away with the factory injector and fuel pressure increase, In any case best to let the rr find the right size injector, so take it with you to the rr.

during the rr the fueling will be set by measuring the exhaust emmisions, wideband/analizer.

ecus that fit the standard multiplug are obvisouly easy to fit.

good idea to ask your local rr if they have experiance with minis and your chosen ecu, (some places that rr and sell ecus sometimes say anything other than the one they sell is crap)

ask on this forum for recomendations on ecus

I have only setup 2 ecus and in both cases they are easy to set but there where problems with the ecu comunicating with my PC

maps can be 10x10 or 16x16 etc for fueling and ignition, with corrections from air temp water temp lambda etc. most blend the map between sites.

programing on rr will be as indepth as you like, it will just cost you. cheap minimum is ignition and fueling at wide open throtal. then the rest guest and checked with a drive on the rollers say 2hours+extra if changing injectors etc.

I have a gta 16v engine i will check the injector when i get a chance.
