I haven't had it done but had a quote, he said about £90 for the back and rear side windows. This included the tint itself as well. Think he did mention that he'd take the back window out to do it too. Don't know if this is a good or bad cost though.

minis can be a pig to tint, especially if you have the openeing rear 1/4 windows as the only way to do it properly is to remove the chrome trim, tint the glass and then re-install the chrome trim with a rivet.
Its best to remove the rear window also to do a good job, and removing the front windows and re-installing can be a nightmare due to window channels rotting out.

90 quid is a good to fair price for just the 3 rear windows, 120 quid is a fair to good price for a proper job on the 5 windows. :)

front tints ( windscreen )for a road going car is a complete no-no. Totally illegal. You can get a 'factory' glass screen that had a nominal 'factory' tint to it, in green I think, or a top-tint screen which you used to be able to get from minispares.

for a show car's windscreen ( that never goes on the road ) you can pretty much use whatever takes your fancy. I've had prototype and concept cars on my exhibition stands and at conferences with full limo tint all round - usually to mask the fact that there is no interior in the car, or to hide the fact its held together with wire and gaffa tape :)

the front side windows is a tricky one - some places will fit 50 % and even 30% but its illegal over 50% I think - john would know better, hes a pro tinter. Usually best to stick at around 70% so the police dont pull you up and make you peel it off.

was talking to a copper in my local area as i know the girl and she said that anything is allowed on the back 3 windows and the front 3 have to allow 70% light in so 30% tint.

i was surprised to hear that you are allowed to do this but she had it on her previous car so im thinking its allowed in my area (Bristol) if a policewoman had it done lol. but im not 100% sure. if your in doubt then contatc your nearest police station or summit and they will tell you the rules and stuff on it i expect.

One thing to remember with front windows is that if you already have green tinted glass, then the green tint is about 10 - 15% so you've already reduced the grade fo tint you can apply.

I think i paid close to £180 about 7 years ago for all of mine, but that was all 5 windows using a really good heat reflective film, Solara i think the film was called, that included taking out the windows.
