My 1998 MPi has always had a slight oil leak, but recently it's got worse - leaving a couple of patches about 60mm diameter, 10 mins after running. It seems to be mainly at the clutch end, but there is a definate drip from the breather hole at the bottom of the clutch casing - does this sound like it could be the crankshaft oil seal?

Yes, sounds like the primary gear oil seal. Is your clutch ok or slipping in 3rd/4th gear?

Ryan.

Clutch seems fine, even though there's so much oil coming out.

Had another look today, and the crank sensor(the one in the vicinity of the starter motor, on the flywheel housing) is soaking in oil, which has ran down the side of the casing. Could there be this much oil just from the crank seal?
