hi everyone, just a quicky about wipers. for once its not the mini thats playing up, but mt 76 mg midget. i am taking it up to the islands and i am assuming that it will be pi$$ing it down at some point. the wiper system looks like that from the mini (same motor, same park switch, same wiper gears) but the main difference is that the wipers only have one setting (one speed). i have seen that you can by switches that have a 2 speed function, are there any ways of checking if it is possible to wire up a 2 speed switch instead?

i am replacing the park switch anyway, so i thought it would be handy to have decent wipers for the wilds of scotland

many thanks!

On your wiper motor itself, if there is 2 wires going from the park switch into the motor itself, it's a single speed.

You will need a 2 speed one which will have 3 wires from the park switch. You might need to change the main wiper plug to a later one with the feed for the fast speed and an extra wire from the switch to the main wiper plug, (the terminals should be numbered on the plug and the feed for the fast speed is terminal 2)
