Hi guys, havent been on in a while, but ive started work on the mini again.
While fitting a new y piece, im extending the wiring for the o2 sensor.
But ive mixed the 2 white wires up, now im not sure which one goes where.
Can anyone help me?
I have the original connector that attaches to the wiring loom, and the sensor obviosly.
There is 1 grey, 1 black and 2 white, please could someone let me know which goes where.
Thanx folks

Alright matey, got that misfire sorted yet???
See attcahed diagram, it might help?
I'm assuming 2 wires are for sensor reading and 2 wires for heater?

That's a neat little image! Where'd you get that?
Anyways, yes - The Blu/Red (C164-4) wire is the +12V for the sensor heater. The black (C164-3) is the ground of the heater. The Grey (Silver) and Light Green/Grey (Silver) are the 'data' wires that lead to the ECU. Looks like the Grey wire should be in the socket position #1, LG/S should be in the socket position #2, and the #3 is Black (Ground) and #4 is Blu/Red.
Of course, that's according to the diagram you provided. The colors in your Mini could be - and probably are - different.

Coyttl, it's from the Rover Manual (CD version). You can buy it off eBay for a couple of quid.

PS - Slate (Gray) is +ve and LG/S is -ve

Very cool, thanks! I wasn't sure which one was which signal to the ECU, so I didn't say anything. I have an SPi, not an MPi, but my wiring is pretty similar, I've found in posts back.Coyttl, it's from the Rover Manual (CD version). You can buy it off eBay for a couple of quid.

Did the same thing myself a while back Tony, tried the wires both ways - no difference, they were a bugger to solder though. If you want to save some hassle, I got a lamda from an old k-series rover they have the same wires and connection plug but they are longer and I got mine to fit without cutting.
