You got it right in the second shot, Yaris T Sport. Not a fan at all of the whole saxo, 106 type cars to be honest.

They're good little cars mate. I wanted one when they first came out almost 10 years ago. All you gotta do is drop the engine out and fit a 1.3 Turbo from the Starlet Glanza v :D

Okay well i have an update for this. I've split the 1275 i got and the engine looks good to do some work on.

There is a lip at the top of the bore so it will need a rebore but i don't know how much to take it to: +40 or +60. Not going to 1380 as i'd like to know i've got another bore left in this engine.

I'm not sure what spec i want to go with this engine but i'm thinking of a 731 cam with home ported head and maybe a hif44 if i can get it for free. Still not sure on the cam though, ideally i'd like an sw5 but i can't afford it at the moment.

Anyone had any experience with a 731 cam?

Cheers,

Andrew

Good working going on here!!
I think something is missing from cylinder 1 :)
Plus 20, is 1293, plus 40 is 1310 and plus 60 is 1330!

I reckon 1293, then do a copy of the works Mini engine spec!:) :)
(Need any info on them might be able to help you)

The guy who i bought it from did saw it wasn't running right :).

Sorry i forgot to mention it's already 1293 lol. We didn't even know until we saw the pistons, ha. And the crank has had 10 thou taken off the big ends but not sure on the mains yet as they are still on it.

My dad is quite persistant that we put twin carbs on aswell so he's trying to source some for free from work, ha.

What else was in the works engine spec?

Just been looking into the minisport cams again and reading reviews on the old ST cams. It says the 731 is no better than an mg metro cam so not sure what cam to use now. Don't really want a second hand cam if i can help it but anything close to the mg metro is like 200 big ones so i'm unsure what to do now.

Nah, no forced induction just yet. Too expensive at the moment.

Engine might not be finished till next year though so it'll still be wrong for another 6 months, ha.

Just seen a mini at the local club with a piper 285 cam in. It idled pretty well and the lad said it pulls well so i've got that cam to consider now aswell. Damn camshafts!

Have you thought about a kent cam?

The 286 in my 1380 wasn't too lumpy.

People get on well with the 276 in 1275s.

I'd put megajolt on it aswell if I was you.

Yeh i was looking at the 286, but i'd heard it was lumpy on idle and hard on emissions. I think it might be a bit too lumpy in mine as it won't be a 1380 i think, probably a 60 thou over bore to 1330 or whatever it is.

Yeh, this lad had megajolt on his aswell and it looks pretty smart. Might be able to do it for £150 aswell so it's the same price as say an aldon yellow dizzy.

I've been looking at it, and it seems possible or around £160.

Theres a bloke on ebay selling ECUs for £120.

And it can change as the car evolves, so if you feel the need for forced induction in the future, you just remap.

Aye, that's what i was thinking. Plus it's mapable at home aswell which makes it a lot cheaper than getting a dizzy recurved everytime you change something.
