Naaa mate, mini and metro should be the same. Bad news about the head gasket. I used to fly through head gaskets on my 998 engines until I realised it was the head that was causing it, even though it had been skimmed.
Good luck changing it.
Ben
Nice one, my dad has ordered me a head gasket from local motor factors so it should be here tomorrow. My dad is taking it into work tomorrow to check and see if it's straight. If it is, jobs a good 'un and i'll be back on the road tomorrow. If not, then i'll get teeside motor factors to skim it for me.
Anyway here's the pics from the towyesterday and the strip down today (which i did for the most part myself apart from lifting the head off which me and my dad did):

Cost me £182 to get home
And the strip down:

You can see the culprit where all the black is between 1 & 2:

Before cleaning:

After cleaning:

This is the bugger that got me stranded 50 miles away from home to wait 4 hours for the AA to pick me up then 2 hours home:

Still ... i've got a nice new one going in tomorrow
Cheers,
Andrew
