I had the clear jewel lenses on the Mini, and started to not like them. So I decided to tint them!
Just bought a can of Halfords spray paint, same colour as the car (Rover Charcoal Grey) and gave a few light coats on the inside of the lenses.

Nope, they're fine!
I tested them after each layer, and the colour of the bulbs is still very clear through them.

I don't think that's a valid measure of their legality.. seriously!!!

just to say aswell, they dont have a reflector now so they will be illegal and fail an MOT however it is up to the discretion of the tester... we've had 2 fail in 2 weeks (not mini's but other cars where they have been tinted) you park it down a dark street with no lamps and someone will crash into it (well thats one of the reasons for reflectors anyway...)

The kit comes with reflectors which go underneath on the bumper bolts >_<
