Hi
I am using U-POL Easy sand filler for a couple of repairs to my mini. I have got the area down to bare metal, and the area is now filled, smoothed down etc. I have a large area around the filler which is still bare metal.
Shall i use etch primer over the entire area, including the filled area? Or is this type of primer bad to use on filler, will it react etc?

I don't want to use two different primers if i have to, so any advice would be great.

Thanks

John

This really depends on the Make of Etch you're using.... some specify that they cannot be used over filler whilst most specify the opposite. It would be best to read the manufacturers labels etc before commiting anything to a panel.

What is certain is that filler must not be applied ontop of Etch.

Hi
Well, I have done as suggested by all here, filled, then used U-POL self etch primer over everything. Its seems to be OK, no problems so far. I will leave it for a while to be sure.
