well i have a stage 2 1293 engine on order that should put out around 91hp and i was wondering is that ok through a standard box also in the future i hope to supercharge it . so really all i want to know is how much hp is safe through a standard gearbox

my minis gears gave up on my 1275 metro engine and that had a stage 1 kit , it was 18 years old tho , im just scarred of the gears going again having spent all that money and then having to to take the engine out again. should i have straight cut gears put in??

thanks any help greatly appreciated!! :D :)

Rebuilt gearbox with an x-pin diff should be ok.

A standard gearbox in good condition should take 100bhp/100ft/lbs torque fine.

The gearbox im putting on my new engine will be completly standard and i'm hoping to run about 90bhp through it...
