In for a penny..........
Soooooo,
I now have new pads, discs, hoses, seals, pistons, rear cylinders, and rear shoes, the more it was investigated the more was found,
Disc was warped and scorched
Pads (front OS) fried
Collapsed NS hose
Leaking rear cylinder
soaked rear shoes
Timing is out hence the 40mph on the hills. So that will be sorted on saturday.
And the welding, will now be done on monday, after the crappy effort I made on the sill, I am having it done properly.

I am starting with a fresh clean subframe
New 1.5 negative bottom arms, (DELIVERED)
Polybushes all round (DELIVERED)
Refurb the top arms
New coil springs
clean up all the suspension and brakes,
General tidy up of the engine bay, and clean and paint anything that can be unbolted.
Hopefully ready for castle combe, then back in the workshop for the front end to be replaced.

New bottom arm pins
New bottom arm buffers
New top arm refurb kit
got the old sub frame stripped, so thats off to the powder coaters next week. The bottom arms are going to be painted as are the tops, once they are clean. The tie bars are also going to be painted in line with the Red white and blue theme.

are you rebuilding it as a standard 998 or are you doing any performance mods at the same time?
i would highly recommend a new cam...
Chris

I have stripped the "spare" subframe tonight, this will be off to the powder coaters tomorrow.

Then I can start bolting on all my new shiny bits, I think I will be on first name terms at DNS classics by the time its finished.
Yes Chris its the 1275 I have had in my shed for about 3 years, stage 4 head, duplex timing gear, and it will end up with a bigger cam and a webber carb.

Would not have been able to get this far so thanks to mini_mad69, still need more help though mate
Central oil pick up fitted,

Core plugs in, pistons and crank fitted, although due to buying the wrong shells, its currently on the old ones in this picture, also hence why the crank bolts are not tightened up so that will be a job for this week, to swap them over.

So far we have fitted new main bearings and bigends.
I have a second 1275 that I think I am going to just put it for now until this one is finished.
Some other bits arrived.

Engine out

I figure that if the engine is out I may as well replace the front end too, so started stripping all the other bits off too

I really need to cover the car if its going to sit outside

The old engine

The new one
