Nice one, did you notch that steady bar or did it come like that?
Damn good idea though, should be able to get the bolt in with the manifold on now!


I did a similar thing with my inlet manifold and filled off part of the locating hole/gap things on it so I could loosen the nuts and lift it away.

No, it came like it (genuine rover part) But had it not I would have anyway, as I didnt what to take the manifold off again, I just nned to blled the brakes tonight and,........

Got the windscreen in tonight, forgotten how much of a they are.

Anyway all done. 1 cut finger. but a new screen seal and locking strip

Took it for a run up the drive tonight,

Its really flat, needs to go on the rolling road,

I need to get the wipers on and the washers and stop the exhaust from blowing and its ready for mot.

Wipers on and exhaust sealed up, sounds a lot better now, engine seems noisy, hope its just somthing simple.
just need to finish off the arches now.

I thought all selector steadies were notched .

I guess the different lengths may be to do with injection cars having the engine mountings slightly further forward on the subby. Metro (and Allegros) had longer(er) rods too.

I've just enjoyed reading through your project. All looking really good! Bet you can't wait for the rolling road... Also, how do you find the coil spring conversion? Any good?

Dont know yet as I have not been able to drive it, should not be long now. Hopefully before the end of the summer.

Well - I have been flat out and the mini has been completely neglected over the summer, the plan now is to get it running, and get an MOT on it before combe, dropping it into slarks tomorrow, and it will come back running, then need to get the washers on and get it in for an MOT. It looks really scruffy at them moment......full respray on the cards I think
