random statements always seem better when you don't know what there on about.

i actually had to search jack knight developments as i thought it was a construction company of some sort lol

i inherited a 1380 sitting on an a + straight cut supposedly built by jack knight, after an internet search and a phone call sent my 2nd gear and synchro, after a week it had been made and ready to send back, they only accepted cheque and were quick to cash it. it cleared on the 8th of this month, i still to date have not recieved 2nd or synchro. and they wont pick up the phone, return any messages or answer any emails! any one had simular experiance?

Certainly been making specilaist gear parts for many many years - and had a great reputation for doing that. Hope they haven't run into financial problems.

I can't believe you didn't know who they are!!! BMC gearbox specialists, world renowned for their excellent gear sets..

unfortunately im pretty sure that they were bankrupted and bought out by another company, obviously when this happens things change. keep pestering them!

I really wish people would stop perpetuating this myth. Jack Knight went through a management buyout, that was about 5 years ago though. They aren't really a BMC specialist either, they do most of their work in commercial vehicles and worldwide motorsport (including F1 and A1 GP) and mostly they make steering parts.

lol you'll have to dig him up first, they buried him some considerable tim ago!

jack knight have aparently been in and out of recivership/changed ownership in the last few years.

last i heard they were making stuff but it was dificult to actually get it out of them, also i have heard some of their parts have been of questonable durability.

personally i would ebay the gearbow and build a new one using the minispares straghtr cut gear kit, it is pretty good, lotquite a few turbo guys stick over 200hp through it.

If it is a genuine JK gear, [identifiable by the letter JKD stamped on the flasnks] MInispares centre ST gears are nterchangable, and more importantly available.
