Model: Mini Mayfair 1000
Year: 1985
Description of idea : Could I drop in a Rover Metro 1.1i engine into my mini?

Its a 60bhp engine with only a 1098 displacement, that's pretty handy. I was also thinking of possibly turbo/supercharging it?

It'd definitely be a megasquirt job, if i did drop it in. I can't find anywhere if it's an A(+) series engine or not, so that'd be usefull.

Be a nice little project for the summer, ey?

Been said many times before: It's a K series engine that came in the 1.1 metros and won't therefore fit straight in. It can be done though and has been done before. A search for k series engine transplant would bring up the answers

damn, i'd read about the k-series engines but thought that was only 1.4 metros.

Oh well, I'll stick to my stock 998 until a reasonably priced, good running 1275 mg metro engine comes along in my area

Or even better, a cooper engne!
